Most people outside of the USC School of Cinematic Arts campus, where the Marcia Lucas Post-Production Center is located, are unaware of Marcia Lucas' contributions to some of the most successful movies we have ever been privy to, including American Graffiti and of course, Star Wars.
Her biggest contributions are exactly what the Star Wars prequels, which is a soul or any sort of a emotional connection with any of the characters. For example, the good luck smooch that Leia gave to Luke when they were about to rope across the bottomless chasm in the Death Star was her idea. While it was purely a subtle gesture, it humanized the character as opposed to the robotic and hideously soulless dialogue in the prequels (i.e. "I am so in love with you").
